Stillborn is my personal story of losing my three babies; Jasmijn (miscarriage), Tom and Tim (both stillborn) and of finding a way back to life.
It is raw and real, because baby loss cannot be softened. Yet it is also full of love, hope, and strength.
This book shows that even in the deepest silence, love is everlasting and life can be lived fully again.
Why I wrote Stillborn
In the middle of my grief, I longed for words that truly reflected what I was going through. Not just the sadness, but also the love. Not just the emptiness, but also the spark that slowly returned.
I wrote Stillborn to give voice to that journey, so that no parent ever has to feel alone in this silence.
Friends said: “Desirée, this needs to be shared. It will help so many people.”
So, I published it.
