Why I do what I do – and why it's essential to keep talking about baby loss

I do what I do because no parent should have to walk through the pain of baby loss in silence.

Too often, grief around baby loss is met with discomfort, avoidance, or well-meant but hurtful platitudes. This silence isolates the very people who need to be seen, heard, and held the most.

By speaking openly about baby loss, I aim to create a space where parents feel acknowledged in their grief, where their stories matter, and where their babies are never forgotten.

Raising awareness isn’t just about education — it’s about creating a culture where grief is not hidden, where love and loss can co-exist, and where parents feel less alone.

This work is not only my mission — it’s a movement. One that brings light to what’s often left in the dark.

Honoring baby loss with love and visibility

I’m the founder of Dag Babyverlies — a dedicated day of care and recognition for parents who have experienced baby loss.

It takes place on the first Sunday of June, between Mother’s Day and Father’s Day — a symbolic space where many grieving parents feel unseen.

This day is a soft place to land. A moment to be nurtured, remembered, and honored.
Because your love didn’t end — and neither should the remembrance of your baby.

Why this work is deeply personal to me

I’m not only a guide in this — I’m a mother to three star children myself.

I know the heartbreak, the silence, the unanswered questions.
And I know how important it is to feel seen in your grief.

My lived experience, combined with years of supporting grieving mothers, allows me to hold space with both compassion and deep understanding.

You have to walk this path yourself,
but you don’t have to do it alone when it comes to baby loss.
